They were organized, they were cunning, they were ruthless and they looked great in a pair of silk stockings. This is the little known story of the Forty Elephants, a girl- gang of jazz follies in 1920s London who looked like heaven but raised hell. It’s true crime meets striptease with some bad ass flapper feminism thrown in for good measure...
Bust 'Em Burlesque will make its world premiere at the Citadel Theatre, in the intimate space known as The Club, as part of their Made In Edmonton Cabaret Series. The club will transform into the Camden Club where the Bust ‘Em Girls will entice you to join their infamous gang of female pick pockets. To get past the bouncers you’ll have to know the password, everyone will be frisked (no coppers allowed) – and you better hope that Scotland Yard doesn’t catch wind of the whole caper and haul your precious fanny to prison. This immersive burlesque is something you won’t soon forget.
