A Brontë Burlesque
Part ghost story, part literary contest, part secret strip-show, A Brontë Burlesque marries the art form of burlesque with the medium of theatre to tell the story of the secret lives of literary powerhouses Charlotte Brontë (author of Jane Eyre, The Professor, and Villette) Emily Brontë (author of Wuthering Heights), and Anne Brontë (author of Agnes Grey and the Tenant of Wildfell Hall).
On the last night of her life, famed novelist and poet Charlotte Brontë is visited by the ghosts of her dead siblings, Branwell, Emily and Anne. Blood is thicker than ink, and there’s more to the Bronte Sisters that what they wrote on the page. Don’t you want to see how it ends?
"The concept of a Brontë burlesque is so seductively kooky, on the surface, that this artful, dark and strangely dramatic Send In The Girls production may take you by surprise. That’s what happened to me."
